  1. What did you do this past week?

This past week I finished a project for Natural Language Processing. I got started working on my Artificial Intelligence project, and my team and I got our IDB1 project idea approved.

2. What’s in your way?

Things that I have to complete this week are Phase 1 for the Software Engineering Project and the Artificial Intelligence Project. I also have to catch up on schoolwork from other classes because I didn’t get much of a chance to work during the winter storm.

3. What will you do next week?

Next week I will complete the projects I stated in previous questions and I will catch up on my school work. If I have some spare time, I might try to do some coding practice related to Python or Front End to prepare myself for upcoming phases.

4. If you read it, what did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle?

I haven’t read it yet, but I will definitely give that a read if I have some time.

5. What was your experience with IDB1 and reduce?

My team and I haven’t completely finished Phase 1, but we got our project idea approved. It was definitely a difficult time brainstorming an idea because the class ideas we saw set the bar so high. Luckily our project idea got approved. With reduce, I enjoyed doing the hackerrank question and I realized that you can just call different mathematical functions. Reduce also showed me that edge case checks are not always necessary in some cases.

6. How did you fare in the storm?

It was rough. There were times that we would lose electricity and we didn’t have water for some days. Luckily we prepared ahead of time and we didn’t have to shovel snow to boil water. Things got back to normal so we are trying to get back on schedule.

7. What made you happy this week?

There are a few things that made me really happy this week. My brother came home to visit when things were getting better, and we spent a lot of time together. Another thing is that my birthday present for my mom came through, and she was really happy when she received it because it meant so much to her. Finally, I was happy that new Pokemon games were coming out because it reminded me of my childhood and how fun the games were.

8. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to always check in on those who you are close with. Let them know that you are there for them. Always cherish and support your friends and family because they are the ones who have supported you throughout your journey.
